SKILL PROFICIENCY DETAILS:
It is expected that the trainee will be able to:
- Use a variety of hand tools and equipment such as budding knives, cutters, and knives.
- Make bench jobs (soil preparation, seed production) of high quality.
- Handle production of good quality nursery plants and seeds of fruits, vegetables, and ornamentals.
- Soil bed preparation, tillage, irrigation practices, use of good quality seeds, plant protection, and measures, etc.
- Prepare the lawn.
- Use green canvas.
KNOWLEDGE PROFICIENCY DETAILS:
It is expected that the trainee will be able to:
- Define the safety measures for the nursery.
- Explain the basic concept of a nursery.
- Explain the hand tools and types of equipment.
- Describe the bench work such as maintaining of nursery, hand tools, producing good quality seeds, storing, selling, and marketing.
- Describe how to prepare and maintain a newly established nursery.
- Explain how to establish the new orchards.
