NUML University Eligibility Criteria

Before starting their application process, students are advised to check the eligibility criteria for their respective program from this page. We have separately provided the NUML Islamabad eligibility criteria for each academic level below.

Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate Programmes:

• Inter/HSSC or its equivalent qualification with minimum 45% to 60% marks from an HEC recognized institute.
• The mark ratio is same for A-Level candidates, IBCC equivalent certificate is mandatory.

Eligibility Criteria for Masters Programme:

• Candidates should have completed Undergraduate/Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with minimum GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 or 50% marks in the numbering system.
• Selection into the desired programme of the candidate will be based on availability of seats, merit based on academic merit, GAT-General score as per valid GRE International/NTS/NUML.
• Applicants with valid GRE International/GAT-General from NTS must clear the written/subjective section of NUML GAT-G to get admission.
• The concerned department of the university will conduct NUML GAT-G.

PhD Programme Eligibility Criteria:

For Management Sciences PhD programs, candidates who have completed 30 credit hours of coursework in the case of professional degrees at the Masters level, such as MBA and MS in Project Management, are eligible. Candidates with MS/MPhil degree in the relevant discipline from a HEC recognized university (18 years of education with 6 research credit hours) with a minimum of 3.0 out of 4.0 CGPA under semester system or First Division in case of annual system.

Selection to PhD programs will be subject to availability of seats, merit based on academic merit, valid GRE International/NTS/NUML prescribed GAT-Subject scores and interview. Applicants with valid GRE International/GAT-Subject scores from NTS will have to clear the written/subjective part of NUML GAT-S (as per the schedule of the respective faculties) to gain admission.

Candidates who qualify for the NUML University Admission interview will have to submit and present a 1500-2000 word statement of purpose (including research title, desired field, potential research and passion for the research area).

NUML University Admission Application Process

• Incomplete application forms or applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
• Visit the NUML University admission website and apply online. Make sure to attach your passport size photograph (with blue background) and scanned copies of other documents as mentioned in the NUML online admission form.
• On one admission form, you can choose preferences in a single faculty. There will be an entrance test for your first choice, and if not selected, your application will be considered for the next preference based on merit.
• If you have preferences in different programs, you will be required to attend an interview for each program. Admission depends on merit and seat availability.
• The admission processing fee is Rs. 2000/- which is non-refundable.
• If you wish to opt for preferences in any other faculty, you will need a separate admission form and will have to pay a separate processing fee. Other rules and regulations will remain the same.
• Preference is not allowed for MS/MPhil/PhD and Functional Level programs.
