First-time applicants & Unisa students have been asking, When will 2025 Unisa applications open?
Unisa Application for admission to undergraduate qualifications, Honours degrees & Postgraduate diplomas for the 2025 academic year to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
According to Unisa, the application model is open and continuous, meaning applications remain open year-round.
It is however important to remember that, “Admission to a qualification is not automatic. It will depend on whether you meet the admission requirements for your chosen qualification and if space is available”.
For now, prospective applicants can prepare for the 2025 Unisa application period.

What Documents Are Needed For Your Unisa Application 2025?
The following documents are required for applicants who have met all the admission requirements to study at Unisa:
- A copy of school qualifications ( Diploma, National Senior Certificate (NSC), etc.
- A copy of official tertiary academic records (if applicable)
- A copy of ID document (South African citizen) or passport (international student)
- A copy of the marriage certificate or divorce certificate (if applicable)
- The Proof of an online application fee of R140
Submit Unisa Online Application for Admission in 2025
Follow the steps below to complete the Unisa online application 2025:
- Go to Unisa website www.unisa.ac.za
- Click on the “Admission” tab at the top menu
- Click on the “Apply for Admission 2025” tab
- Choose your preferred qualification (Undergraduate/Postgraduate)
