Admission Instructions [ Fall 2024 ]

WHO CAN APPLY FOR ADMISSION?

If you are also willing to submit your application, then you must fulfill the requirements and conditions published on the VU website. The conditions are as follows.

1. Valid CNIC/B form number and these photographs should be scanned copies, not mobile photo
2. Valid Email address (Preferably applicant’s own)
3. Cell Phone number (Preferably applicant’s own)
4. Photographs of interested applicants should be in passport size with a blue background.
5. Scanned copies of the educational documents with clear readability (not mobile photo).
6. Applicants must have an Equivalency Certificate from IBCC or HEC in case the applicant has an A/O level certificate or foreign degrees as applicable.
7. Applicants must carry course content, original NOC of previous institute or university, and original incomplete result card only for applicants seeking admission on credit transfer or course exemption basis. Which are getting through the general route based on an incomplete bachelor’s result card.
8. Students with dual citizenship or who are foreign nationals will be submitted after necessary codal formalities/verification from concerned offices (HEC, Examining Agencies) for admission such applicants may visit VU website link https://www.vu.edu.pk/pages/AdmissionForeign.aspx

INFORMATION FOR MERIT-BASED PROGRAMS

1. For MSCS and MBA (Equ. to MS) programs each candidate is required to pass the Virtual University’s Entry Test (with minimum 50% marks). Limited seats on merit basis.
2. The applicants seeking admission towards Biological Programs BS Bioinformatics, BS Biotechnology, BS Zoology Programs, Diploma in Bioinformatics & Diploma in Molecular Biology will be required to select Lab preferences as merit will be determined LAB Wise.
3. Aspirants are directed to apply for merit-based biology programs. They choose the lab preferences carefully Merit will be determined on the basis of seats available on a lab city basis. So, once the admission confirmation is completed in any lab city. Therefore, biology students are not entitled to change the lab city during the entire study period.
4. The merit list of the successful candidates of Biological Science & MS Programs will be published on the VU website on the prescribed admission schedule dates.
5. Successful hopeful will deposit the fee within the due date.

GENERAL INFORMATION

• Admissions will be released as per the published schedule.
• Applicants are advised to enter their correct CNEC number carefully while filling out the registration form during sign-up to avoid rejection of the admission form.
• Admission forms submitted after the due date will not be accepted Uploading the documents in the registration interface as per the given instructions is a necessary process.
• Uncompleted admission forms will not be rejected. Upload a complete set of documents with legible documents carefully to avoid any problems.
• If a candidate is already enrolled in VU and their admission status is regular inactive then they need to cancel their old admission before applying for fresh admission or pass out marking.
• An applicant has to submit the admission fee for only one admission form. If an applicant submits the fee for multiple programs, the University reserves the right to cancel one or all the admissions and confiscate the fees collected.
• Applicants should provide correct information without concealing any facts. If wrong information or bogus documents are found in the admission form, the university reserves the right to blacklist and confiscate the fee degree at any time.
• The University reserves the right to ignore the admissions of applicants with incomplete admission forms or those who have paid the dues of admission forms after the due date.

RESULT AWAITING APPLICANTS (HSSC/Intermediate):

1. Result awaiting applicants (HSSC/Intermediate – Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education) may apply for admissions based on their Part-I result card of the HSSC/Intermediate, under the following conditions: –
   1. At least 45% marks in Part-I (HSSC/intermediate) for ADP/BS programs except for ADP/BS Computing programs (e.g. BSCS/IT/SE).
   2. For ADP/BSIT/BSCS/BSSE computing programs applicant must have at least 50% marks in Part I with subjects specified in the admission eligibility criteria.
   3. Such applicants will be admitted provisionally and will have to upload and provide their Part-II/Final Results in LMS/Registration by the date announced. Failure to provide or upload the Part-II/Final Result Card will result in the cancellation of the applicant’s admission, and refund of the fee as per University policy.
   4. Further, such applicants should submit the following documents to the nearest virtual university campus or send them directly to the Admission Office, Virtual University of Pakistan, Sir Syed Memorial Building, G-5/1., Ataturk Avenue, Islamabad, on or before the commencement of classes (October 14, 2024): –
      1. Attested copies of Educational Documents (two sets).
      2. Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) two copies.
      3. Two passport-size photographs with a blue background.
      4. Equivalence Certificates etc. (If applicable in case of A/O level)
   5. Applicants will be waiting for the result while filling the admission form/registration.
2. Zero Semester is not applicable to the following Programs: –
3. MScs, BS Psychology, BS Bioinformatics, Biotechnology and Zoology, Diploma in Molecular Biology, and Bioinformatics programs are not available to foreign applicants, only residents of Pakistan can apply.

Course Exemption:

1. General Route
   The applicants of the below category can apply for Course Exemption through the general route:
   1. Applicant(s) intend to apply for Course Exemptions based on already qualified courses or Incomplete Degree/Diploma/Certificate from VU; after admission eligibility of the desired program; qualified within last five years.
   2. Applicants studying at any HEC recognized University/Institute and intend to transfer/exempt their qualified courses towards the Virtual University of Pakistan.
2. NOTE: The applicants applying for Course Exemptions through General Route are required to submit Course Exemption Proforma in Hard Copy at the time of filling admission form along with the original NOC, Original Incomplete transcript issued by the concerned authority of the University/Institute, and Course Content of qualified courses.
3. BS Entry Route (Admission into BS Program)
   1. Applicants who have completed an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree. Like BA/B.Sc./B work, Associate’s and BS degree programs can apply for admission through the BS entry route option so that we provide such applicants with minimum admission eligibility for the BS program. A lower set of criteria will need to be met.
   2. The Equivalence Committee of the University will evaluate the course exemptions on a case-to-case basis based on the applicant’s qualifications.
   3. Transfer of Credit Hours / Course Waiver Policy / Rules are given on this website https://www.vu.edu.pk/Admissions/TransferStudents.aspx.
   4. Applicants are or will be notified of the Equality Committee’s decision by email.
   5. After the decision on their BS entry route exemption application, such applicants will be required to pay the admission fee.

SUBMISSION OF HARD COPY DOCUMENTS BY THE PROVISIONALLY ADMITTED STUDENTS:

1. Provisionally admitted students awaiting results should upload their Part-II/Final Result Card from the LMS/Registration Interface on or before 14 October 2024. The admission office will verify the uploaded result and confirm the acceptance of admission; otherwise failing to upload their Part-II/Final Result Card such applicant’s admission will be marked canceled.
2. All provisionally admitted students shall submit the hard copy of their documents to the nearest selected Virtual University Campus or Registrar Office/Admission Office, Virtual University of Pakistan, Sir Syed. Memorial Building, G-5/1, Ataturk Avenue, Islamabad OR Virtual University of Pakistan, M.A. Jinnah Campus, Defence Road, Off Raiwind Road, Lahore.
3. Tentatively admitted students will be responsible for submitting the following documents before the start of mid-semester exams in Fall 2024: –
   1. Attested copies of Educational Documents (two sets).
   2. Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) two copies.
   3. Two passport-size photographs with a blue background.
   4. Equivalence Certificates etc. (If applicable in case of A/O level)
4. The University reserves the right to block or cancel the admission of provisionally admitted students of the result awaiting admitted students who fail to upload their documents in the LMS/Registration interface by the prescribed date, October 14, 2024.
5. The University reserves the right to withhold or cancel the admission of provisionally admitted students who fail to submit two sets of hard copies of the required documents before commencement. mid-semester examinations.
6. The fees of such students will be refunded as per the University policy.

NOTE:

• The virtual university admissions  Fall 2024 has zero tolerance for quality. Therefore, applicants are advised to proofread the admission form before clicking the submit button and not to upload duplicate documents to avoid any inconvenience.
• The University reserves the right to immediately reject incomplete admission forms during the last/last dates of admissions without giving further opportunity to the applicants to complete the admission forms after the closing of admissions.
