General Information
- Location: University College Cork, situated a short walk from Cork city centre.
- Course Fees: Include free sports and gym membership and access to all student services and facilities on campus.
- Cork City: Known for its traditional Irish culture with a modern European outlook, dynamic arts, food, and live music scenes.
Summer School Overview
- Duration: 20 or 16 hours of English tuition each week.
- Classes: Monday to Friday (or Thursday for 16-hour courses), from 09.00 to 13.00, with a break mid-morning.
- Certificate: Provided upon completion.
- Activities: Wednesday afternoon visits to tourist attractions, Thursday evening social events in Cork City, and access to campus facilities.
Courses Offered
- English for Work and Life (General English):
- Develop English for real-life situations.
- Minimum enrolment: 2 weeks.
- Level: A2 and above.
- Academic English:
- Skills for study and life in English-speaking universities.
- Minimum enrolment: 2 weeks.
- Level: B1+ to C1 (B2 recommended).
- Business and Professional English:
- Focus on 21st Century Skills.
- Minimum enrolment: 2 weeks.
- Level: B1+ to C1.
- English for Exams:
- Preparation for IELTS, Cambridge B2 First, or C1 Advanced English exams.
- Minimum enrolment: 2 weeks.
- Level: B1+ (IELTS Band 4.5) and above.

- Self-Catering Apartments:
- Victoria Mills and Victoria Lodge.
- En-suite campus accommodation.

Prices
- English for Work and Life, Academic English, Business and Professional English, English for Exams:
- 20 hours/week: €630 (2 weeks) to €2900 (10 weeks).
- 16 hours/week: €520 (2 weeks) to €2520 (10 weeks).

All students are allowed to bring a fully equipped laptop with audio video and headphones to class. To ensure full participation and access to course content and a more valuable student experience. A reliable internet connection is required. It is provided for on-campus students. You need to download Microsoft Teams on your laptop before starting your course.
UCC recommends use with the Chrome browser for optimal interaction with all of its applications. Please note, that a laptop is a device that is subject to study purposes and students who use another device such as a tablet may not be able to access certain functions. The subject is not considered a device, so laptops are allowed.
