  3. FAFSA applicants must demonstrate financial need, as defined by being Pell-eligible and having an adjusted gross household income of $75,000 or less.
  4. MASFA applicants must have a designated eligible status by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education (DHE) under the Massachusetts Tuition Equity Law and must have a Student Aid Index (SAI) of 7,500 or less.

  9. Eligibility begins in Fall 2025. Summer and winter terms are not included.

Benefits

  • The Dartmouth Deal covers tuition, required fees, and college fees for up to four years of full-time undergraduate study.
  • Financial literacy workshops and access to financial counseling services
  • Scholarships and grants opportunities for textbooks, accommodation and other educational expenses
  • Guaranteed on-campus housing (cost of housing not included in the program)

How does this work?

  • Getting a UMass Dartmouth Deal is straightforward. Students who file a FAFSA and meet the eligibility criteria will be enrolled in the program. There is no separate application process required, making it easier for you to focus on your studies.
  • Eligible students will be notified of the status of their tuition guarantee through their student account and financial aid correspondence.
  • The final price for a student depends on their individual financial award letter. Funding for the Dartmouth Deal is dependent on adequate funding from existing federal and state financial aid programs, including but not limited to the Federal Pell Grant and the Massachusetts State Grant Program. If aid under these programs becomes insufficient to cover a studentโ€™s expenses, the Dartmouth Deal may be affected.
